Newmar Corp., which has substantially realigned its motorized lineup with a series of toy haulers over the last two model years, has entered the towable sport utility (SURV) segment for the first time with the debut of the X-Aire fifth-wheel. The mid-priced coach debuts this week at the 54th Annual California RV Show Oct. 13-22 in Pomona. Available in two double- and triple-slideout 40-foot floorplans, X-Aire features aluminum-and-fiberglass construction with a rear cap masking ramp springs. “We’ve been getting a lot of requests from customers asking for better-built toy haulers,” said Darin Elswick, director of towable sales. “We are excited to be entering a new market with this product that has the same quality and the same construction that Newmar is known for.” Interior features include oak cabinets, a queen-size cabover bedroom and a queen-bed loft over the garage, which is separated from the living area by a wall. MSRP: $58,890.
