Highline towable and Class A manufacturer Newmar Corp. has entered the mid-priced fifth-wheel segment with nine floorplans in the new 2006 Cypress, pictured with members of the Cypress sales staff. “We’ve taken the same look as the Kountry Aire and the same wrap, and put them into a price-sensitive coach,” said Jeff Kripe, director of towable sales. Available in lengths of 31 to 39 feet with two to four slideouts, Cypress retains Newmar’s trademark “bullet” body style, and features aluminum superstructures with fiberglass sidewalls and heated and insulated holding tanks. Cypress, which debuted at the Louisville Show, also features MOR/ryde rubber equalizer suspension systems and EZ Lube axles. Interiors boast hardwood raised-panel cathedral cabinetry, laminate countertops with oak edging and cedar-lined bedroom wardrobes. The living space includes a dinette/sofa “superslide.” Retail prices start at about $42,000.
