Elkhart, Ind.-based Nexus RV announced a consolidation of two plants in order to improve quality and sustain a higher level of production at their main plant.
“Last summer we expanded our Super C manufacturing to another plant to fulfill the large number of Super C orders we received,” stated Chairman Claude Donatiin a press release. “As we have delivered most of those units, we are properly adjusting our rate of production to match the orders we are bringing in.”
The consolidation reduces their labor by 15 people leaving nearly 200 workers employed by Nexus RV with many of them will transfer to the main plant. The facility will be considered for a Class B production facility later this summer.
“We believe there is an opportunity in the Class B segment,” states Dave Middleton, president Nexus RV. “This facility is perfectly sized to handle that type of product. We are nearly a full-line motorhome manufacturer and the addition of a Class B will round off our portfolio. We continue to seek ways to provide our dealers with products that can create good gross margins and retail customers an opportunity to buy products that are full featured and price competitive.
