The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) recently recalled 3,897 Class C motorhomes built by Fleetwood Enterprises Inc., and aftermarket trailer hitches assembled by Reese Products Inc.

Dealers will replace the spare wheel with a higher weight carrying capacity wheel on the Fleetwood Class C units that were built between July 1995 and last April.

Included in the recall are model year 1996-2000 Jamboree and Tioga units along with 1996 and 1997 model year Montara units.

The parts numbers on the Reese aftermarket hitches are 65509, 67509 and 61009, and the ball mount number is 58112.

The recalled hitches were produced between August 1999 and last April.

Purchasers of the recalled hitches are to contact their dealers or Reese Products for a free replacement.
