Dealers attending the Jan. 8-9 Northern Wholesale Show were in “an upbeat mood” and showed “lots of energy,” according to Steve Johnson, buyer/show manager for the company.

Johnson told RVBusiness that the event at Treasure Island Resort and Casino in Red Wing, Minn., matched last year’s success with no drop off in business. “It was an outstanding show. Attendance was equal to any show Northern has held, which is saying a lot since this was our 33rd annual RVSuper Show,” he said.

Each year, Northern invites dealers to vote for their favorite new products during the show. Top products this year, as chosen by dealers, were:

No. 1: Drymate surface protection products with mats for sink countertops, under-sink liners, pet food undermats and floor runners.

#2 Blackstone griddle.

No. 3: RVSnap by Origen, made from recycled materials

The choice of Drymate was especially meaningful, Johnson said, since it is made in the U.S. by a Minnesota company. Another feature of the product is that it can be custom imprinted with the dealer’s logo, giving it a unique marketing advantage for the dealership. Johnson said, to his knowledge, Northern Wholesale is the only RV distributor offering this product.

A highlight of the show – and a first for Northern – was a bowling night held Tuesday evening at the alley located in the casino. The event, sponsored by Airxcel, gave Northern customers, exhibitors and venders the chance to unwind without the pressure of the sales floor.

“We all had a blast,”Johnson said. “This was a perfect opportunity for dealers, exhibitors and Northern staff to let their hair down and have fun together before the show floor officially opened.”
