Ohio-based Couch’s Campers is undergoing a four-phase, $2 million expansion to its retail outlet in Monroe that will add a new service center and a 30,000-square-foot showroom.
The Hamilton Journal News reported that the showroom, which should be completed by this fall, will resemble a strip mall and be one of the largest of its kind in the state.
“It’s a modern design and a beautiful building,” said founder and owner Jerry Couch of the showroom.
The project will include a 30-foot atrium that connects the new showroom to the store and offices. Couch also plans to develop campgrounds offering 50 to 100 sites, designed for customers who have traveled to the area to buy campers and also for short-term camping outings.
The Monroe location is situated at Lesourdsville Lake, the former site of Americana Amusement Park. Couch’s Campers, now in its 35th year, also operates a store in Middletown.
