Given the growth in RV sales last year, six Florida RV dealers are expecting strong attendance at the upcoming 2017 Jacksonville RV MegaShow running Feb. 9-Feb. 12 at the Jacksonville Equestrian Center.
The Florida Times Union reported that Rob Rothenhausler, general manager of Ocean Grove RV Supercenter in St. Augustine, said there is every indication that the strong RV sales seen in 2016 will carry over into 2017.
“Listening to the manufacturers and everyone else in the industry, they’re expecting a good year,” said Rothenhausler, who is also serving as board chair of the statewide Florida RV Trade Association (FRVTA) this year. “Sales are up across the board everywhere among all the manufacturers, so hopefully that carries over to us on the retail side.”
Those trends are reflected in the sales at Ocean Grove RV Sales, which happens to specialize in towable RV units.
“As far as motorhomes are concerned, the sales of our Class Cs have been picking up,” Rothenhausler said. “The Class As are moving a little slow, but mostly our towables are moving … and that’s our specialty.”
Rothenhausler, along with Ken Loyd, board president of the FRVTA’s Northeast Florida Region, believe these RV sales trends will translate into a busier-than-normal RV show in Jacksonville next month.
