Damage estimates from a fire last Saturday (April 16) at Powersports and RV Canada rose to around $4 million, according to a report by CBCOttawa.
The fire, which officials supsect was caused by dry, windy conditions that set off up to 60 brush fires in the area, started at a construction business which backs up to the Ottawa, Alberta dealership.
General Manager Greg Brule says the company is still tallying the losses, but he estimated between 300 and 400 motorcycles and ATVs, and about 20 RVs went up in the blaze.
The fire occurred at the dealership’s busiest time of the year and Brule reported the backyard was crowded with brand new inventory.
No one was injured as firefighters were able to stop the fire just short of the main showroom.
