The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) Board of Directors has tentatively approved a $207,000 budget for public relations to promote conversion vehicles next year.

The PR budget for conversions is part of the RVIA’s total PR budget of $880,000 proposed for next year.

The board will make a final decision about next year’s PR spending during its meeting in California during September.

Conversion vehicle production has dropped sharply the last few years because auto dealers prefer inventorying sport utility vehicles because they have much faster retail-turn rates.

During the first five months of this year, conversion vehicle shipments were down 14.8% to 56,500 units, according to the RVIA.
