Christopher J. Braun, until recently an executive at truck manufacturer PACCAR, now is senior vice president of Fleetwood Enterprises Inc.’s RV Group, Fleetwood announced today (May 6).
At Fleetwood, Braun rejoins Ed Caudill, who was hired away from PACCAR last summer to be Fleetwood’s president and CEO.
“I worked closely with Chris for 14 years at PACCAR and found him to be an excellent executive,” Caudill said. “We are excited to have Chris join us and I know that he will bring a lot of strength to the organization.”
Braun assumes a position at Fleetwood that had been vacant for 20 months. Chuck Wilkinson, Fleetwood’s COO, whose experience is mostly on the manufactured housing side of Fleetwood’s business, also served as the head of Fleetwood’s RV Group during the 20-month period.
Wilkinson continues as Fleetwood’s COO and Braun will report to Wilkinson.
Braun has worked the last 16 years at PACCAR, most recently serving as second-in-command at its Kenworth Truck Division, which has about $2 billion in annual sales revenue. Braun was responsible for Kenworth’s sales and marketing for North America and its operations.
Earlier, Braun was director of operations at Kenworth for four years with responsibility for four Kenworth manufacturing plants in North America.
Before joining Fleetwood last July, Caudill was a PACCAR vice president and general manager of Kenworth.
One of the reasons the Fleetwood Board hired Caudill was because Kenworth is about the same size as Fleetwood.
Last week, Fleetwood reported sales revenue for its fiscal year 2003, which ended on April 27, of $2.31 billion, including $1.48 billion in RV sales and $798 million in manufactured housing sales.
