Forest River Inc.’s Palomino Division has added the all-aluminum, entry-level Sabre mid-profile fifth-wheel to its 2007 lineup. Formerly a small southern Michigan firm dedicated to folding camping trailers, Palomino – acquired by Forest River President Pete Liegl in 2002 – has been expanding in recent years into more conventional towable markets. Available in four 27- to 31-foot floorplans with up to three slideouts, Palomino’s Sabre is built on an all-aluminum superstructure with an innovative front cap and twin landing lights that can be set on low beam at night for safety. Features include a 7-cubic-foot Dometic refrigerator, swivel rockers, residential porcelain toilets and a 200-watt entertainment center with surround speakers. Retail prices start at $30,000.
