The Recreational Park Trailer Industry Association (RPTIA) reports shipments increased 19% through the first three months of 2004.
The RPTIA reports that 2,100 units were delivered compared to 1,700 in the first quarter of last year.
The latest report from RPTIA, based in Newnan, Ga., showed 600 units shipped in January, followed by 700 in February and 800 in March, the strongest first quarter since 2001.
RPTIA said manufacturers’ orders were “going gangbusters,” and attributed the increase, in part, to heightened awareness of the product with consumers. Park trailers are generally used in recreational areas, offering temporary quarters for owners and featuring residential-style construction and amenities.
RPTIA is holding its quarterly Board of Directors meeting today (April 23) in the Phoenix, Ariz., area.
