Parks Canada’s new reservation system will be implemented March 22, according to a report in the Jasper Booster.
The system allows visitors to book a site online or by phone in advance at Parks Canada’s network of campgrounds and parks.
“This new national service was developed in response to campers’ requests for an online campground reservation service that would allow them to better plan their experience by being able to reserve a campsite in advance of their arrival at the park,” said Alan Latourelle, chief executive officer for Parks Canada.
The move will help Canada’s national parks catch up to private sector campgrounds and provincial campgrounds that already offer a similar service.
Campers can book a site by calling 1-877 RESERVE or by going online to www.pccamping.ca. But campers will have to ante up an additional $11 to use the service.
