The York RV Show, hosted by the Pennsylvania Campground Owners Association (PCOA), posted around a 9% increase in attendance along with brisk sales by exhibiting dealers. According to a press release, the show ran March 10-12 at the York Expo Hall.

PCOA credited the higher attendance to an extensive advertising campaign was formulated which included TV, print, radio, billboards, posters, postcards, and of course social media. An online pre-roll video that targeted people who are in the market to buy or currently own an RV within a 100-mile radius of the show was also included.

The 12 RV dealers displaying product sold a total of 180 units during the show. Exhibitors lined the 130,000-plus square feet of indoor space while 30 units were positioned outside the facility.

Thirty-four campgrounds also showcased their facilities and talked with the customers about the advantages of coming to their park. Eighteen other booths sold camping-related items such as generators, cone forks and camping stoves.

A unique feature of the show is Camper Bingo, where 24 weekends of camping are given away to one winner each hour. Bingo cards are distributed to everyone when they enter the show. Face painters were on hand for the kids and a caricaturist entertained the attendees.

A grand door prize of $1,000 toward a new RV was awarded to aN attendee from Reading, Pa.

The entire show is produced and manned by PCOA volunteers. The organization purchased the show in 1994 from a private individual who started the event in 1978.
