Fifth-wheel manufacturer Peterson Industries Inc. is introducing a 750-pound capacity hydraulic lift that carries motorcycles, golf carts or other toys on the outside of Excel coaches. The lift system is making its debut at the 44th Annual National RV Trade Show that opens today (Nov. 28) at the Kentucky Exposition Center, Louisville, Ky. Peterson will install the Hydralift as a $4,875 option on 30- to 38-foot floorplans in the company’s Excel RT, Classic and Limited fifth-wheel brands. “We are going to market this to RVers who don’t want to live with a garage,” said Bryan Tillett, president of the Chanute, Kan., company. “They can use the whole interior of their coach for living space and still have their toys with them.” The hydraulic lift bolts directly to the fifth-wheel frame and features a positive lock so that it won’t release down during transit. The lift can be unbolted when not in use.
