Pilgrim International Inc., Middlebury, Ind., has completed a $1 million upgrade to its 36,400-square-foot lamination facility.
According to a press release, the upgrade moved the company toward its goal of producing all-laminated fiberglass products. Currently Pilgrim manufactures the wood-and-aluminum Pilgrim towable series along with Cirrus, Legends, Open Road and PureSport laminated fiberglass towables.
The new equipment, including a $400,000 1040 vacuum lamination system by Industrial Technology International LLC, has allowed Pilgrim to add 30 new jobs to its workforce, with another 20 jobs pending seasonal and market fluctuations.
“We now have three lines – two vacuum lamination and one roll coat – in production running a variety of product lines and sizes,” said Ken Mahaffa, lamination plant manager. “We rebuilt everything from the ground up.”
The factory now has the capacity to vacuum bond or roll coat 100 panels per day.
