Pittsburgh will not have one of the first retail RV shows in 2002 because the city’s new convention center will not be finished in time.

The Pittsburgh RV Show was scheduled for Jan. 12-20 but construction of the David L. Lawrence Convention Center is 30 to 40 days behind schedule.

Consequently, the show in Pittsburgh was rescheduled for Feb. 23-March 3, said Jill Costic, show manager.

The RV show will be the first event in the Lawrence Center and Costic hopes the year 2002 event will draw a bigger crowd than usual because people will want to see the new facility, with its dramatically sloped roof and glass walls.

Meanwhile, Costic said she is working on getting the word out that the year 2002 RV show has been postponed until late February.

The Pittsburgh RV show typically draws 25,000 visitors and occupies around 130,000 square feet of space.
