A growing Illinois dealership will be unveiling a new 108,000-square-foot showroom during grand opening festivities this weekend.
According to Bloomington’s The Pantagraph, the spacious showroom marks the fifth expansion for Pontiac RV since the family-owned business moved to its new site along Interstate 55. The project took more than a year to complete.
“It’s like an RV show every day,” said general manager Kent Kafer, who operates the Pontiac-based business with his two siblings. “We have 100 units inside and sell over 30 brands of RVs.”
Kafer said the dealership, founded by his parents 25 years ago, now boasts one of the largest indoor showrooms in the Midwest. The project also added 17 service bays, for a total of 38, allowing for customer training on their newly purchased vehicles.
Kafer said the business, which employs 55 people, originally occupied about five acres of land. Now the dealership encompasses more than 42 acres – with additional room available to expand – and includes a large, outdoor paved show area with around 500 new and used vehicles for sale.
