Arlington,Texas-based Recreational Dealers Exchange Co. (REDEX) and towable builder Potomac RV, Elkhart., Ind., announced today (Feb. 18) a joint venture in the manufacturing of a private-label product.
According to a press release, the high-end towable will be marketed to around 100 REDEX dealerships in 36 states. REDEX is a consortium of national dealers with 2005 sales that should exceed $2 billion.
“This may be the first private-label brand in the RV industry to be assembled by a group of independent dealers,” said Paul Skogebo, president of REDEX.
Jim Johnson, Potomac president and CEO, called the joint venture “an absolute win for REDEX and Potomac.”
He added, “This product does not compete with anything that we currently build. We do not clone any products so this will truly be a REDEX unit. Our Potomac and Liberty lines are considerably different than the REDEX unit.”
Potomac and REDEX expect the high-end towable to be rolled out as a 2006 model year product in August of 2005.
