Nelson Potter, 57, currently the president and COO of Fleetwood Enterprises Inc., will also become the company’s CEO effective April 30, the end of the RV and manufactured home builder’s current fiscal year.
As the new CEO, Potter will replace Glenn Kummer, 66, who will remain as Fleetwood’s chairman.
Potter has worked for Fleetwood for 25 years and has been president and COO since 1998. Prior to 1998, Potter was executive vice president-operations, a factory general manager, director of international housing and vice president of planning and corporate development.
Potter earned an MBA degree from the Wharton Graduate School at the University of Pennsylvania and was a securities analyst for Kidder Peabody before joining Fleetwood.
Meanwhile, Kummer celebrated his 35th anniversary as a Fleetwood employee last November. He was president and COO for 16 years until Potter was promoted in 1998.
Prior to joining Fleetwood, Kummer was a public accountant for Ernst and Ernst, predecessor to Ernst and Young.
