Linda Profaizer, CEO of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC), likely will become the organization’s new president on Feb. 1, replacing David Gorin, who has held the position since 1993.
Gorin recently informed the ARVC Board that he wants to resign early next year to become a consultant to the campground industry, focusing on government relations.
Meanwhile, ARVC Chairman Randy Packard said Profaizer is a logical choice to replace Gorin.
“We want to look at all the options, but frankly, we brought her on board with the hope that, if David retired, we would like to move her up,” Packard said. “She has agreed to do that. She’s willing to sign on for up to five years.”
Profaizer, the former president of Woodall Publications Corp., an affiliate of Affinity Group Inc., publisher of RV Business and RVBUSINESS.COM, joined ARVC as senior vice president and chief executive officer in January 2000.
Packard has appointed a four-member committee to negotiate Profaizer’s contract and to make a recommendation about Gorin’s future role with the organization after he becomes an independent consultant.
The committee is expected to make recommendations at ARVC’s annual meeting Nov. 28-Dec. 1 at the Hyatt Orlando in Kissimmee, Fla.
