The Pennsylvania RV and Camping Education Foundation (PRVCEF) has awarded scholarships to two individuals who began their training at the National School of RV Park Campground Management at Oglebay Resort.
The recipients are Nance Glantz from Four Seasons Campgrounds at Raystown Lake, Pa., and Denise Jones. Jones is not affiliated with a campground but is looking to begin a career in the campground industry.
The school will be conducted Feb. 17-22, 2009, in Wheeling, W.Va.
According to PRVCA, the school enhances the skills of its students through a high-quality educational program focusing on business management principles and practices as applied to the RV park and campground industry. This is accomplished in a professional educational setting providing formal and informal student contact with an experienced, interdisciplinary faculty including park operators.
Each student receives $500 to go toward the tuition for the program. These scholarships are made possible through sponsors of the Pennsylvania foundation. The PRVCEF is designed to “establish, support and carry out charitable and education programs and opportunities for individuals who would like to make a career in the RV and private campground industry.”
The school is sponsored by the ARVC Foundation, an affiliate of the National Association of RV Parks and Campgrounds (ARVC) and the National Training Center for Public Facility Managers.
