The RV Liquid Plumbing Systems course, hosted by Northampton Community College in conjunction with the Pennsylvania RV and Camping Association (PRVCA), opens Jan. 16 and runs through Feb. 19.
In this course, the third of the major RV systems, students get to identify and appreciate all types of plumbing systems associated with both fresh water and waste water systems. The various types of plastics used are discussed as are the various system tests mandated by the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA). A detailed look into the recommended winterization processes is also a focus. The student will have a complete understanding of how the RV incorporates the entire spectrum of fresh water and waste management.
The program is approved by the RVDA/RVIA RV Technician Certification Board and qualifies for 28 recertification hours. Students receive a certificate of completion successful completion of the course. The program is designed for RV maintenance and sales personnel, service managers, factory field technicians, service representatives, inspectors and those seeking a new, hands-on career in a growing industry.
Those who complete the entire program will earn a specialized diploma from Northampton Community College. Students not wishing to obtain the specialized diploma may also enroll in individual courses as desired. Those who earn the specialized diploma will be prepared to test for the RV service technician or master certified technician with RVIA.
Employees of PRVCA members will receive a 50% reimbursement on tuition and textbooks upon successful completion of the course.
