Holiday RV Superstores Inc., the retail dealership chain that does business as Recreation USA, plans to test market guarantees and extended warranties on the used RVs that it sells.
The Fort Lauderdale, Fla.-based company plans to begin testing the two consumer initiatives at its eight locations in Florida “beginning in late summer,” said Marcus Lemonis, president.
If the consumer response is positive in Florida, then the company will extend the guarantee and extended warranty offers to customers buying used RVs from its eight locations in six other states.
Recreation USA plans to offer a three-day money-back guarantee on all used “Quality Certified” motorhomes and towable RVs that it sells in Florida. That means customers will have 72 hours or 100 miles from the time they take delivery to return the RV for a full refund or exchange for another unit.
Prospective buyers must have approved credit before taking delivery of the RV.
The guarantee does not apply to used units sold by Recreation USA “as is.”
The extended warranty program will cover the power train for all “Quality Certified” used motorhomes sold in Florida. The warranty is good for 30 days or 1,000 miles on motorhomes that are less than five years old and with less than 60,000 miles driven. It is available at no extra cost to the retail buyer.
“Over the past several months, we have seen a shift in our product mix as consumers continue to turn to previously owned RVs,” Lemonis said. “We feel that these initiatives will make purchasing a used vehicle easier for consumers by demonstrating that Recreation USA stands behind every vehicle we sell.”
