The 50-member Recreational Vehicle Dealers Exchange Co. (REDEX) is promoting its first-ever nationwide sale.
The nationwide sale, promising “over 25,000 new and used RVs,” runs the month of May and is offering $24,000 in parts giveaways.
The sale is being advertised in national RV-related consumer magazines, by direct mail, and on local TV, radio and in newspapers.
“The REDEX group is looking for other ways to get into the marketplace,” said Ron Wheeler, REDEX executive director and president of Wheeler Advertising Inc., Arlington, Texas, which manages the buying group. “We are combining some resources from a creative perspective that individual dealerships might not have on their own.”
Wheeler said special incentives and financing would be available to consumers.
“We think this is a substantial program,” Wheeler said. “We are taking it over and above the kinds of things that we have done before.”
In February, REDEX Chairman Paul Skogebo, Robert Crist & Company RV, Mesa, Ariz., said the buyers’ organization was looking to increase its membership by 50% this year, while associating the REDEX name with a growing number of branded services. Currently, 50 REDEX members operate 89 locations nationwide.
