U.S Rep. Ralph Regula (R-OH) received the 12th Sheldon Coleman Great Outdoors Award, June 13, at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in Washington, D.C., in recognition of his advocacy of outdoor recreation.

The award was part of Great Outdoors Week, June 12-16, sponsored by the Washington-based American Recreation Coalition (ARC).

In his role as a legislator, Regula helped create such initiatives as the Challenge Cost Share Agreements for recreation and wildlife programs and the National Recreation Fee Demonstration Program.

The Sheldon Coleman Award was named for the late conservationist and founder of the Coleman Co.
