“We believe we’ve learned from some of the best and we’re ready to provide a service that is more valuable, broader and yet more focused than what is currently available.” Padgett, formerly with Blue Ox and Keystone Automotive Operations, said in a press release. “We have put together ARC as a model of what a rep group should be. There are some good groups I’ve had the pleasure of working with during my 26 years in the industry, and we have tried to distill the best of all the business models currently in place and create something new. Ultimately our model should make suppliers and dealers more profitable.”
The stated goal is to be a nationwide group that can cover a supplier’s needs for the entire country. Padgett noted that ARC’s core function is to concentrate on dealer visitation.
“Although having the experience, expertise and willingness to work with distributors, the primary activities will be helping dealerships to grow their business,” he said. “ARC intends to focus on a limited number of suppliers so the company can provide laser-like focus and drive real benefits. Our focus will be on educating the dealer in how to sell product as well as streamlining efforts so it is easier for the dealer to move the product.”
ARC has already filled some of the open positions and its goal is to fill all 10 territories by the end of 2015. Padgett noted, “We are looking to max out at 10 suppliers so we can truly concentrate on growing those businesses.”
