Camping World Inc. has opened new stores in Savannah, Ga., and Gulf Breeze, Fla. – both associated with local FreedomRoads RV dealerships.
A 20,000-square-foot facility with nine service bays and 8,000 RV and outdoor supplies and accessories, has opened adjacent to Bill Waits RV Superstore in Savannah’s I-95 corridor.
The store also offers overnight electric service and a free dump station. “Together with Bill Waits RV Superstore, we have everything to serve the needs of the RV enthusiast,” said Russ Underberg, general manager of Camping World of Savannah.
In Gulf Breeze, Fla., a new 5,000-square-foot Camping World SuperCenter with 12 service bays has opened on property shared with Emerald Coast RV Centers. “Camping World is moving at a very strong pace,’’ said Marcus Lemonis, now president and CEO of both Camping World Inc., Bowling Green, Ky., and FreedomRoads Holding Co., LLC., Lincolnshire, Ill.
Lemonis said Camping World expects to open 20 to 25 stores next year and nearly as many the following year. “Our plan moving forward is to quicken the pace of openings with the expectation of having more than 100 stores in operation in 2008,’’ he said. The Savannah store is 59th for Outdoor World, the nation’s largest direct marketer and speciality retailer of RV and outdoor camping accessories and services.
