Well-known and respected RV industry veteran, Rex Miner, vice president of quality at Airstream, Inc., a division of Thor Industries, Inc., Jackson Center, Ohio, has announced his retirement effective Friday (March 14).
Miner’s career in the RV industry began in 1968 and he has been a senior manager of Airstream since 1979, with the exception of a seven-year period from 1987 to 1994.
For two years from 1987 to 1989, he served as vice president of Western U.S. operations for Thor. He then left the Thor to work for Winnebago Industries Inc., Forest City, Iowa, as vice president of product development from 1989 through 1993.
Miner returned to Airstream in 1994 and has held various senior management positions within, including in engineering, product development, and most recently, quality. His leadership in those areas has always been exemplary, and he will be missed by the organization, according to Airstream and Thor management.
His knowledge of Airstream’s product and customers is legendary.
“Rex’s achievements and contributions are too many to list, and his service to Thor will always be recognized as outstanding,” said Thor Chairman Wade F. B. Thompson.
Miner plans to spend more time with his wife, Peggy, and their children and grandchildren in North Carolina and Arizona. Officials encouraged industry friends to contact Miner at [email protected]
