Officials have confirmed that Roadtrek Inc. has been acquired by Conestogo Partners, which is described as a “U.S.-based permanent capital ownership group that is focused on outdoor recreation.”
Roadtrek had been owned by Groupe Rapido, owner of the Westfalia and other European brands, since 2019, and by Erwin Hymer Group North America (EHGNA) prior to that. Roadtrek was not included when THOR Industries acquired Erwin Hymer Group in early 2019.
News of the acquisition was first reported by Mike Wendland of RV Lifestyle (see below).
In an email to RVBusiness, Roadtrek officials confirmed the transaction took place, and issued the following statement:
Roadtrek recognizes Groupe Rapido for its stewardship of the brand and its contributions to rebuilding Roadtrek’s presence in the North American market.
The acquisition by a U.S.-based, permanent capital ownership group focused on outdoor recreation further strengthens Roadtrek’s North American focus and alignment with its dealer and customer network. The investment also provides Roadtrek with additional financial strength and strategic support as we pursue our long-term plans, including continued investment in our products, operations, and dealer network.
Roadtrek will continue operating from its Cambridge, Ontario facilities under its current leadership team, with no changes to day-to-day operations. Our commitment to product quality and to supporting our customers, dealers, vendors, and other business partners remains firmly in place. Backed by new ownership, Roadtrek will continue building on the trusted name, loyal community, and commitment to service that have defined the brand for more than 50 years.
Looking ahead, the popular Wave Skylight, Wave SL, and Wave for 2 floorplans will continue for the 2027 model year under the Roadtrek brand. By bringing these established designs into the Roadtrek portfolio, the company will build upon their success while continuing to provide dealers and customers with the product quality, service, and brand experience they have come to expect from Roadtrek.
As part of this transition, Roadtrek will gradually phase out its licensing arrangement for the Westfalia brand in North America after completion of scheduled production. The company remains fully committed to supporting the sale, service, and applicable warranty coverage of current Westfalia vehicles in the North American market through each vehicle’s two-year warranty period. Roadtrek will also work directly with stocking Westfalia dealers to support a smooth and well-coordinated transition.
Our dealer partners are an important part of Roadtrek’s business and future success. We value the relationships we have built and look forward to continuing to work with you as we enter this next phase of the company’s growth.
