“RV,” a big-budget comedy starring Robin Williams, is scheduled to begin shooting in May at various locations in Canada.
The comic actor, whose credits include roles in “Good, Morning Vietnam” and “Good Will Hunting,” will play a workaholic dad who loads his family into a rented RV for a road trip to the Rockies, hoping they won’t realize he is really going to attend a business meeting.
The family eventually ends up in an RV community in Colorado where they encounter a collection of eccentric campers.
The Columbia Pictures film is directed by Barry Sonnenfeld (Men in Black) and also stars Cheryl Hines (Curb Your Enthusiasm) as Williams’ wife.
Kristin Chenoweth, best known to television audiences as the deputy press secretary Annabeth Schott on NBC’s “The West Wing,” has also signed on, playing a stay-at-home businesswoman who sells products out of her trailer at the campground.
