Shown here in the 4th Street Live district of Louisville, Ky., is a 29-foot Route 66 Flyer fifth-wheel, part of a new private-label towable line manufactured by Middlebury, Ind.-based Pilgrim International Inc. for the Route 66 RV Network. Spokesmen for Route 66, a growing network of independent RV retailers headquartered in Overland Park, Kan., anticipate that the bulk of the group’s 145 stores in 45 states will end up carrying the value-priced line. “Like most Route 66 offerings, there’s dealer discretion (in what they choose to carry),” said Rob Merrill, a Route 66 partner. “However, they have greeted the Flyer with an overwhelming response.” Plans call for more models in addition to the existing single-slide 29R66-5 fifth-wheel on display outside the network’s Louisville Show business reception and the three current 19-31-foot travel trailers.
