The Newnan, Ga.-based Recreational Park Trailer Industry Association (RPTIA) has added several functions to its website at rptia.com, allowing potential customers to search for park model dealers as well as park model-friendly campgrounds and RV parks by state.
RPTIA said the website now identifies those parks that lease or sell sites for park model use. It also offers listings that specify which campgrounds offer park model units for rent by the day, week or season.
“This will be the first available listing that will give our potential customers the ability to quickly and easily locate retailers and RV parks that either accommodate these units or rent them out,” said Bill Garpow, RPTIA’s executive director.
Garpow said prior to the upgrades, consumers had to contact dealers or OEMs for information.
“Our industry didn’t make it easy for consumers to learn about park models,” he said. “But the upgrades we’ve made to our website will help us to eliminate these obstacles and will allow the industry to market our products more efficiently by giving potential buyers the information they need, when they want it without the multi-step hassle.”
RPTIA is looking for assistance from the industry to compile complete and updated listings for the website.
“We need every park model dealer, manufacturer campground and RV park operator to check these free listings, verify that their information is accurate and send us any needed changes,” Garpow said. “We also are seeking high quality digital photos, that can be posted and used by the members of the media. Especially needed are photos that show families using and enjoying their park models in the RV parks.”
