Park-model builders will convene in Middlebury, Ind., Oct. 29 for the annual fall meeting of the Recreational Park Trailer Industry Association (RPTIA).
The meeting will be held from 9:15 a.m. to noon at the Essenhaus Inn & Conference Center in Middlebury.
“This is typically our biggest meeting of the year,” said Olin Wenrick, who serves as the elected president of the RPTIA in addition to being president and CEO of Elkhart, Ind.-based Trophy Homes, Inc. “We expect that roughly a third of our members will be on hand to discuss everything from business issues affecting the park-trailer industry to the business and marketing activities that RPTIA will undertake on their behalf during the coming year.”
Members will examine this year’s growth in the park-model sector, which has produced record numbers in shipments and sales.
“This year is the strongest we’ve ever seen in the park-trailer industry and we expect this growth to continue,” Wenrick said.
As an indicator, RPTIA has sold a record 7,109 seals in the first nine months of this year, a 26% increase over the 5,655 sold during the same period last year.
“These seals do not reflect actual unit shipments, but they do provide a healthy indicator of the direction the industry is going, and right now manufacturers are stocking up on seals for future deliveries,” Wenrick said.
On the marketing front, Wenrick said RPTIA members will discuss a number of topics, including the association’s new website, www.rptia.com.
Wenrick said additional content will be added in the coming months, including search capabilities that enable consumers to search for park-model dealers as well as campgrounds that provide park-model units.
RPTIA also plans to elect its officers and directors for the coming year during the meeting.
