Gary Bunzer, also known as the“RV Doctor,” is hosting a new cable show – “RV Roadtrips” – on the DIY (Do-It-Yourself) cable network, according to Family Motor Coaching magazine.
Industry veteran Bunzer also writes a monthly column, “House Calls With The RV Doctor,” for the Family Motor Coach Association’s monthly magazine. Bunzer’s advice columns and technical articles have appeared in publications for the past 25 years and he has written or contributed to several books and has presented instructional seminars and helped develop training videos for the RV industry. He also hosts a website, www.rvdoctor.com.
According to the magazine, a study Bunzer conducted that involved routine maintenance and service found that owners can save a substantial amount of money in labor costs by doing some of the work themselves. That’s always been an industry tradition. Furthermore, he logically insists that folks who take good care of their RVs will experience fewer equipment problems.
Each “RV Roadtrips” episode is divided into three segments, the first showing what individual families experience while RVing as cameras tag along with a family as they visit a favorite destination. Next comes instruction on setting up a campsite and preparing for departure using a different type of RV in each episode.
Beyond that, Bunzer instructs RVers on how to perform a specific form of preventive maintenance that includes troubleshooting, disassembly, reassembly and testing of components. And, at times, he makes “house calls” to RVers somewhere who need help.
