The theme for the convention is “2015-Growing Stronger Everyday!” and promises to resonate with all attendees as they hear from top leaders in the RV industry, including Richard Coon, president of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA); Doug Gaeddert, a general manager for Forest River Inc. and RVIA Past Chairman; and Phil Ingrassia, president of the Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA).
Also on hand will be nationally renowned professional speakers Patrick Henry and Tim Connor, as well as a number of other professionals who will showcase all the latest news and updates in the industry along with state-of-the-art business techniques.
The convention opens up on Sunday, Nov. 6, with a traditional golf tournament followed by a welcome reception. Monday’s presentations begin with Coon, who will discuss “RVIA Latest News and Updates,” as well as Gaeddert, who will cover “The State of the RV Industry from the Manufacturer Side” and Ingrassia, whose topic is “RVDA National Dealer News and Updates.”
Sheril Vergara of RH Power & Associates, ORVA’s marketing firm, follows with a presentation on “Advanced Social Media Strategies.”
Coon’s second presentation will offer details on the new “Technicians in Training” program and will include a Q&A session.
A panel discussion will provide information on vehicle titling issues and updates. Participating panelists include Roy Dockum, executive director of Oklahoma Motor Vehicle Commission, Dennis Roller, title supervisor of Motor Vehicle Division of the Oklahoma Tax Commission, and Randy Coy of Dean’s RV Superstores Inc.
Also on Monday, Henry will present “Becoming Re-memorable” that will help people create passionate customer connections. Connor will present “Customer Focused Sales Strategies,” covering several of the key ingredients in maintaining increased sales such as: question-based selling, disarming sales resistance in advance, developing an effective sales message and how to close more sales faster and easier.
On Monday evening, attendees will enjoy a cocktail reception that will feature the culmination of a special donor silent auction and 50/50 money match campaign to raise funds for the dealer association. The President’s Banquet Gala that will include dinner and special headliner entertainment by Patrick Henry’s Comedy Show.
The convention will cap off on Tuesday morning with Connor’s second appearance, a motivational seminar called “Success is a Decision.” The seminar will discuss attitudes for management success and cover a variety of essential topics, including; how attitudes impact employee performance and sustained success, common management mistakes and how to avoid them, and how culture drives your business results.
In keeping the convention’s theme, “2015-Growing Stronger Everyday!” all dealer attendees will receive from the Arbor Day Foundation a short red bud tree to plant in the spring, which is Oklahoma’s state tree.
