The Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) announced a new facet to the strategic alliance between the RV Learning Center and RVDA Associate Member Spader Business Management.
According to a press release, the arrangement will promote leadership development programs for RVDA members and will offer one scholarship annually that will honor the RV industry service of Spader founder and former RVDA Chairman Duane Spader, as well as his leadership philosophy of life-long learning.
Applications will be accepted immediately for the Duane Spader Leadership Development Scholarship. The deadline for applications is March 10. The recipient receives full tuition valued at $14,875 to attend the 18-month Spader Leadership Development Program. Learn more and apply online at the RV Learning Center website.
Under the terms of the arrangement, Spader will offer the Leadership Development Scholarship annually to give one current or future leader the opportunity to participate in the program. The Learning Center and Spader will partner to deliver training targeted at “Young Executives” in the RV industry. The partnership fits with the RVDA community’s interest in the broad development of the industry’s current and emerging leaders, and expands existing agreements between RVDA and Spader for the RV Flat Rate Manual and 20 Groups.
“We’re excited about the benefits of this partnership because it is a step beyond where we have gone before in our efforts to educate the up-and-coming dealership leaders,” said RVDA President Phil Ingrassia. “Through this arrangement with Spader Business Management, the RV Learning Center will expand its ability to foster professional development for future leaders in the RV industry.”
“The Spader Business Management team chose to base this scholarship on our Leadership Development Program because of the tremendous impact it has on the personal and professional lives of participants,” said David Spader, the program’s principal trainer. “It is the perfect way to highlight Duane’s service to the RV industry.”
The Spader Leadership Development Program is an 18-month program for current and future leaders that involves five three-day sessions. In between sessions, participants are tasked with putting what they’ve learned to work in their dealership and tracking the results of those efforts through assignments and one-on-one sessions with a Spader coach.
The recipient receives full tuition valued at $14,875 to attend the Spader Leadership Development Program. The recipient will only be responsible for travel expenses. Applicants must be an employee of an RVDA dealer member.
Upon graduating from the program, participants will know how to:
- Lead their organization’s culture and strategy
- Improve their leadership and management effectiveness
- Coach their team to higher performance
- Effectively understand and manage each area of Total Business Success™
- Hire the best candidates for each position
- Deliver world-class customer service
- Assess and improve their dealership’s organizational and financial health
