The RV and manufactured housing communities lost a veteran sales professional on July 17, when Mark A. French passed away, surrounded by family at his home in Lancaster, Wis.

Mark French, born on March 8, 1961, in Anaheim, Ca., the son of Robert and Donna (Senstad) French, married Lorrie Kniseley on July 18, 1987, in Temple-Belton, Texas, where they started a family and eventually raised two sons, Matt and Ben French. The French family moved to Wisconsin in 1990, where Mark and Lorrie have been an active part of the Lancaster community for the last 29 years.

His career in the MH and RV industries spanned more than 37 years, including 20 years in sales and sales management roles with Skyline Corp. in the manufactured housing industry, and the last seven-plus years dedicated to the RV industry and his Forest River Inc. family.

He’ll be remembered by his friends and family as a true “sales artist” who understood that sales are essentially a way of getting people you care about (dealer customers in this case) what they want and need. He also reportedly excelled at building mutual trust, clearly understanding that win/win relationships were the key to long-term partnerships. He will be missed by the many friends he made and the people he’s positively impacted in both industries.

Mark French was also passionate about the outdoors, spending his free time fishing and building and flying his RC planes, gardening, and “cruising” with Lorrie.

He is survived by his wife, Lorrie; sons Matt and Ben, mother Donna French, siblings Mike (Tammy) French and Lisa (Doug) Gaeddert plus numerous nieces and nephews. Mark was preceded in death by his father, Robert; brother Daniel, maternal grandparents Clifford and Myrtle Senstad and his paternal grandparents Armand and Francis French.

A funeral rite service will be held at 1 p.m. Sat., July 27, at the St. Clement Catholic Church in Lancaster. Family and friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Friday, July 26, where a 3:45 p.m. prayer service will precede the visitation. Visitation will also be held from noon, Saturday, until the start of the services at the church. A celebration of Mark’s life will follow the Saturday service from 5 to 9 p.m. at Doolittle’s in Lancaster.

In lieu of plants or flowers, a “Mark A. French Memorial Fund” has been established to help out with Lancaster area community needs, including nonprofits and various projects to improve the health of the community. The Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory of Lancaster is entrusted with his services, and contributions to the memorial fund” may be sent to the Martin Schwartz Funeral Home & Crematory of Lancaster, 1234 S. Madison Street, Lancaster, Wis., 53813.
