According to a company announcement, RV One will offer 2016 Winnebago gas and diesel motorhomes beginning with the Largest Motor Home Show in New York State. The consumer show will run July 31 to Aug. 2 at the Turning Stone Casino Resort in Verona N.Y.
In the same announcement, RV One spokesmen said the retailer surpassed $154.3 million in revenue for the first six months of 2015, up 39% from the same period in 2014, and is expected to surpass $315 million for the year. In addition, RV One is embarking on an expansion that will see the construction of a new 40,000-square-foot facility at its site in Tampa, Fla., as well as the planned addition of a sixth location in the near future.
“Anyone in our industry right now should be excited for the opportunity we all have to widen our consumer base,” RV One President and CEO Don Strollo stated in the release. “Along with that comes significant potential for revenue growth and, if planned properly, that can be done wisely with mitigated risk. During the recession between the years of 2008 to 2010, our company saw revenue growth, not reduction. This was partly due to proper planning and new relationships formed during that time. We are very happy that Winnebago will be a partner in our strategic growth plans for many years to come.”
In Strollo’s view, Forest City, Iowa-based Winnebago, having grown considerably lately, is poised for success.
“We feel Winnebago has a renewed focus on product development and a strong competitive desire to be back out front again in all market categories in which they participate. Additionally, Winnebago has made it clear that they are out to gain market share through strategic partnerships such as this one. Upgrading the dealer base for Winnebago is smart move and shows intelligence at the top,” Strollo stated.
Scott Degnan, Winnebago’s vice president of sales and product management, told RVBUSINESS.com that the company is looking forward to its partnership with RV One, a second-generation, family-held company that carries a wide range of towable products, including Jayco, Forest River, Keystone, Airstream and Evergreen brands. Strollo’s brothers are part of the dealership’s executive team as Mark Strollo serves as vice president and Matt Strollo is the Tampa store manager.
“Winnebago is a company with great longevity and unequaled brand recognition. A great deal of credit for those attributes goes to what we feel is by far the best dealer network in the industry. Winnebago dealers represent the best of the best in their markets and are measured on their ability to deliver optimal customer service,” Degnan said, adding that RV One’s solid 30-year history and market performance, as well as the commitment to customer satisfaction demonstrated by the Strollo family, make them a great fit with the Winnebago brand.
