The “World’s Richest RV Parks” were the subject of a feature broadcast on the Travel Channel Sunday (Jan. 4), and the program will be broadcast again on Thursday (Jan. 8).
The program, which will begin at 9 p.m. Eastern Time, includes segments about luxury motorcoach resorts in Southern California and West Palm Beach, Fla.
It also includes visits to Europe’s largest RV campground, near Venice, Italy, and a caravan resort in Queensland, Australia.
The Outdoor Resorts property in Indio, Calif., the KOA Campground and RV Resort at Lion Country Safari in West Palm Beach, Fla., and Newport Dunes Waterfront RV and Camping Park in Newport Beach, Calif., are among facilities that are featured.
Portions of a videotaped interview with Linda Profaizer, president of the National Association of RV Parks & Campgrounds (ARVC), are shown throughout the broadcast.
The Travel Channel also broadcast on Sunday night “RV Crazy”, a feature about unusual, homemade RVs. The program will be broadcast again Thursday beginning at 10 p.m. Eastern Time.
Perhaps the most unusual RV featured on “RV Crazy” was built by a man from Finland who vacations in Florida. He welded four Chevrolet vans together to create a 40-foot motorcoach and converted another van into a mobile sauna, which he pulls with his homemade motorhome.
