Recreational vehicle rental activity is expected to grow by an average of 36% this year, according to a new survey of RV Rental Association (RVRA) members.
“People are ready to travel this summer and renting an RV is one of the best ways to see the country,” said RVRA Chairman Bert Alanko. “RVRA members tell us they”re adding more RVs to their rental fleets to satisfy consumer demand for vacation travel and trips to special events, such as auto races and concerts.”
The survey showed that the average rental fleet size is expected to increase by 12% in 2005. Class C motorhomes continue to be the most popular choice among renters.
The survey also indicated that more than 75% of RV rental companies rent for more than 10 months a year and foreign visitors are expected to make up 7% of all North American RV rentals this year.
The increased demand has led consumers to opt for advance bookings. “If you”re thinking about renting, book now so you can get the type of RV you want, on the days you want it,” he said.
