RV rental activity is expected to increase by 35% this year, according to a survey by the RV Rental Association (RVDA).
“We expect this to be an outstanding year for RV rentals as families and couples look for great ways to spend time together on vacation,” said Bert Alanko, chairman of the RVRA and president of MBA Insurance Inc., Scottsdale, Ariz. “This survey confirms that RV rentals are one of the fastest growing segments of the RV industry.”
The surging demand for RV rentals makes it more important for consumers to book in advance. To help consumers make reservations, the RVRA has launched the website www.rvra.org, which includes an online directory listing more than 300 rental companies in the U.S., Canada and Europe. The site also provides tips on renting including advice on driving an RV, selecting the proper unit and understanding rental agreements.
Prospective renters also can get a free video about RV travel by calling (888) GO-RVING or visiting the www.gorving.com website.
Class C motorhomes are the most popular rental RVs, followed by Class A motorhomes, folding campers and travel trailers, Alanko said.
