The Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association (CRVA) reports that RV wholesale shipments into Canada for the second quarter ending June 30, 2026, totaled 9,286 units, representing an 18.0% increase compared to the 7,867 units shipped during the same period in 2025.
For the first six months of 2026, total wholesale shipments reached 18,972 units, an increase of 6.3% compared to 17,852 units during the same period last year.
CRVA notes that year-over-year quarterly comparisons continue to be influenced by the unusual trade conditions experienced in 2025. During the first quarter of last year, dealers accelerated inventory purchases ahead of anticipated Canadian retaliatory tariffs, resulting in shipments being brought into Canada earlier than normal.
Conversely, the subsequent imposition of Canadian retaliatory tariffs on U.S.-manufactured motorhomes in April 2025 significantly disrupted motorhome shipments into Canada during the second quarter.
“Looking at the first half results of the year as a total provides a much clearer picture of the Canadian RV market than either quarter viewed independently,” said Shane Devenish, President of the Canadian Recreational Vehicle Association.
“Despite an extremely challenging and uncertain trade environment, nearly 19,000 RVs were shipped into Canada during the first six months of 2026, up 6.3% from last year. Towable RV shipments have remained essentially stable, while motorhome shipments were robust following the significant tariff-related disruption experienced in 2025. Overall, these results demonstrate the continued resilience of Canada’s RV industry,” said Devenish.
Towable RVs remained the largest segment of the Canadian market, with 16,300 units shipped year-to-date, essentially unchanged (-0.5%) from 2025. Motorhome shipments totaled 2,672 units through June, an increase of 81.0%, although CRVA cautions that this comparison reflects the significant impact that Canadian retaliatory tariffs had on U.S.-manufactured motorhome shipments during the second quarter of 2025.
CRVA added that the RV industry continues to closely monitor the evolving trade environment between Canada and the United States. For decades, the Canadian and U.S. RV industries have enjoyed a strong, mutually beneficial relationship that supports manufacturers, dealers, campgrounds, suppliers, and RV consumers on both sides of the border.
As discussions surrounding tariffs and trade continue, CRVA remains hopeful that both governments will work toward fair and reciprocal solutions that provide the stability and predictability the industry needs to invest, grow and continue serving RV enthusiasts throughout North America.
