Stocks of both Thor and Coachmen continued to decline on Wednesday, a trend that began last week in apparent response to Coachmen’s refusal to merge with Ohio-based Thor.

Thor dropped 3/8, or 1.5%, closing at 24 5/8. Coachmen also fell 3/8, or 2.8%, closing at 13.

Trading volume for both companies, however, told a different story: A total of 75,000 Coachmen shares changed hands, an increase of 17,000 over Tuesday, while Thor’s trading volume declined to 1,000.

The two RV manufacturing giants weren’t alone in Wednesday’s stock performances: All manufacturers showed declines with the exception of Starcraft, which rose 1/8, or 1.6%, to close at 8.

In the broader market, the Dow Jones Industrial Average fell 168.97, or 1.60%, to close at 10367.78. The Nasdaq composite also dropped, falling 200.28, or 5.59%, to close at 3384.73.
