RV industry supplier Seating Technology of Goshen, Ind., is planning to move, consolidate operations and add to its work force with the construction of a 65,000 square-foot manufacturing facility.
According to a report in the South Bend Tribune, Seating Technology recently purchased 10 acres in the Goshen Industrial Park. The company broke ground in June on the new facility, which will more than double the space for company operations, including for furniture production and a design center.
Seating Technology, which produces such recreational vehicle furniture as sofas, recliners, hide-a-beds and cushions, will consolidate operations now housed in two buildings in Goshen.
According to Seating Technology President Rick Finnigan, 40 jobs will be added once the project is completed in early November
The privately held company also operates two other businesses: Design Time, a bedspread and drapery company, and National Tent + Awning, both in Goshen. Future plans are to also relocate these businesses to form one large complex at the industrial park.
The time for the changes is right, according to Finnigan.
“The RV industry is on a roll right now,” he said. “Our business has been on an upswing for the last three years. There is good demand for the product we supply.”
