Much of the 750,000 square feet in the Kentucky Expo Center at this week’s National RV Trade Show is devoted to the shiny new motorhomes and towables that 57 manufacturers are displaying for dealers planning next year’s orders.
But, according to a report by the Elkhart Truth, a much larger number of exhibitors at the 52nd annual RV National Trade Show, some 750 companies, are touting an array of new products and services related to those vehicles.
“We’re showcasing to the dealers,” said Fay Flournoy, marketing manager for Elkhart, Ind.-based Atwood Mobile Products LLC. “It gives them the opportunity to see what’s in the coaches and the upcoming products.”
Atwood’s Fan-Tastic Vent subsidiary is launching its new EZ-Breeze, a ceiling vent that’s unique because it has a built-in rain cover rather than a dome cover that opens and closes. It also doubles as a ceiling fan.
“Some people are looking for that kind of white noise in their bedroom,” she said. “We’re excited about being able use this in the bathroom as well.”
Also new for Atwood is its Stove Wrap, a nonflammable fabric stove apron of sorts that Atwood will distribute in North America in partnership with a German manufacturer. It’s washable and fits around a gas range top’s burner openings.
“It keeps your stovetop clean,” Flournoy said. “When you’re camping or RVing, do you really want to have to clean up your cooktop? You want to be having a good time with your family, right?”
Elkhart-based Lippert Components Inc., is also eager to show dealers several new products.
Lippert’s new myRV is an electronic tablet that lets the RV owner control the vehicle’s functions, such as extending an awning or a slideout, simply by touching a spot on the tablet’s screen. It has also developed a newmyLCI mobile app that lets service technicians and RV owners quickly and easily access information on Lippert products.
