Three dealers and one semi-retired RV manufacturing company executive were honored during the national Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) Convention/Expo in Las Vegas earlier this month.
The honorees are: Jim Fogdall of Ace Fogdall RV of Cedar Falls, Iowa; Rick Horsey of Parkview RV Center of Smyrna, Del.; Craig Jensen of Blaine Jensen RV in Kaysville, Utah; and Jim Sheldon, special assistant to the chairman of Monaco Coach Corp.
They were honored for the significant contributions they have made to the RV industry over an extended period of time.
The awards were presented by Bruce Bentz, principal of Capitol RV in Bismarck and Minot, N.D., who completed his term as RVDA chairman on Oct. 2.
Fogdall received the award for his longstanding commitment to the RVDA’s leadership and volunteer work. After his 1996-97 term as RVDA chairman, Fogdall remained active, serving “with distinction” on the RVDA Education Foundation and RV Assistance Corp. boards, Bentz said. “Jim is also the immediate past chairman of the RVDA/RVIA Technician Certification Governing Board, where he has led the effort to develop tools to train and test technicians.”
Horsey was honored for “immense” contributions to the RVDA Education Foundation’s Learning Center as the foundation’s chairman.
“The work of RVDA has evolved over the years, and like my predecessors, I came to rely heavily on the chairman of the RVDA Education Foundation to help work toward the mission and goals outlined in the RVDA strategic plan,” Bentz said. “Rick’s thoughtful and determined leadership has been invaluable to me personally and to RVDA.”
Jensen was cited for his outstanding commitment to the association and its goals. “After his 2001-02 term as chairman of the RVDA board, Craig has not pulled back the reins on his service to RVDA. He has worked hard on the RVDA Education Foundation’s fund-raising committee, serving as its chairman. Craig was also just elected to the RVDA Education Foundation board and will serve as the chairman of the RVDA-RVIA Technician Certification Governing Board. He’s always been there for me and other board members with sound advice and support.”
Sheldon was honored for his work with the Go RVing industry coalition. Bentz also cited Sheldon’s work on behalf of the RVDA Education Foundation Learning Center.
“Jim is one of the leaders behind the coalition’s work to improve the quality of RV products, sales and service,” Bentz said.
