EDITOR’S NOTE: The Recreation Vehicle Dealers Association (RVDA) is seeking a director for the RV Learning Center to replace Pamela J. Colman, who assumed the position last November. The following release from Fairfax, Va.-based RVDA details job requirements and contact information.
Qualifications for the position include:
• Supervise at least two education managers
• Work with subject matter experts in the industry, vendors, and educational institutions to coordinate the development and maintenance of curricula for every position in an RV dealership (except service technicians.
• Work with similar groups and supervise the development and administration of testing and certification programs and evaluate their effectiveness.
• Oversee the development of educational presentations at the annual RV Dealers Convention/Expo.
• Ensure the availability of adequate training and professional development opportunities for dealers and industry employees through all possible means, e.g., in person sessions, on-line programs, and publications.
• Work extensively with volunteers and other association executives.
In addition, RVDA noted:
• This is a senior position that reports to the president. The successful candidate will have good, transferable, interpersonal and management skills, experience in training, education, or the RV/camping/automotive industries would be a plus.
