The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association (RVIA) has canceled its annual meeting scheduled for March 12-15 in Dana Point, Calif.
RVIA said it will hold an abbreviated meeting June 9 during RVIA Committee Week at the Willard InterContinental Hotel in Washington, D.C.
”Given the economic circumstances in the nation and what the RV industry is experiencing, the board thought it best to cancel the meeting,” said Bill Baker, RVIA senior director of communications and publications. “We are keeping a tight lid on expenses and canceling the annual meeting was one area that the association and our members could save money.”
RVIA bylaws require that an annual meeting be held to, among other things, report on the association’s status.
The RVIA Executive Committee recommended that the meeting be canceled and the recommendation was ratified by a unanimous vote of the board, which was polled by telephone.
