The Recreation Vehicle Industry Association’s (RVIA) 2006-2008 “Go the Extra Mile” fundraising campaign – generating supplemental, voluntary contributions to support the Go RVing program – is being extended for a fourth year in 2009.
According to RVIA, current contributors who renew one-third of their Phase IV pledge or new donors making a one-time contribution of at least $1,000 will receive extra recognition as “2009 Extra Mile Boosters.”
“Especially now, when tough economic times are causing consumers to look for inexpensive vacation options, Go RVing needs to keep the RV lifestyle front and center in consumers’ minds,” said Gary LaBella, RVIA’s vice president and chief marketing officer. “The 2009 Go RVing Extra Mile Booster program will help supplement campaign revenue lost due to the unsteady economy and keep dealer leads flowing in.”
The additional funding collected by the “Go The Extra Mile” campaign will help cover the cost of maintaining Internet activity – the most economical source of consumer leads in “lean years” – including promoting the new “value” messages, social media initiatives such as the Go RVing blog and upgrades to GoRVing.com.
Contributing companies will receive special recognition as “2009 Extra Mile Boosters” at the National RV Trade Show, during RVIA Committee Week and in RVIA Today. They will also receive a reduced rate for the Go RVing leads.
RVIA said companies giving $34,000 or more to the 2009 drive will be able to download the Go RVing leads for free and will be awarded a special plaque in recognition of their support.
